This is the rest of Fred's set of pictures.
Looking up one of the side ravines of Carrizo Gorge.
Except for one collapsed tunnel, all the tunnels are passable. This one is currently being restored, and is about 95% complete.
Down the hill several derailed box cars lie broken on the slope.
We stopped at the Jacumba Texaco for a lunch time break. Thinking ahead, Mark bought a 12-back for the return ride.
Todd and Fred(?) in one of the tunnels. The tunnels are unlighted. One is over 2,500 feet long. Hazards include fallen rock, spikes and nails that stick out from the walls, soft sand, water, etc.
Back in camp, Mark prepares to sit.
Our campfire, as seen from the railroad, is protected by the boulders at the bottom of a ravine.
Our camping area as seen from the hill to the south.
Fred, on Jerry's truck, and Jerry return with more beer.
Fred's (future) house.
