Most people dressed in the traditional way their ancestors did. Originally, the servants worked 7 days a week. One day a year, the masters allowed them a day off...as long as they were back to serve morning breakfast. So what would be a typical evening feast became a very early morning feast and celebration, ending by 8 or 9 in the morning so the servants could return to their duties.
