Brisk breezes at the summit of San Jacinto peak whipped the U.S. flag. It had gotten cool toward the top, but the entire hike was relatively protected from the northwesterly winds. There were few people on the peak because the tram was out of service for its two weeks of annual maintenance. However, there were many search and rescue teams looking for two hikers missing since the previous afternoon. The hikers were found around 3:00 pm, about an hour after we arrived back in Humber Park. Unfortunately, the digital camera refused to function after I took this picture. It was the dreaded "E18" error which afflicts the Canon Powershot A70. The camera is over a year old so out of warranty. It might make a good paperweight.
