On September 19, my friend Peter and I hiked from Humber Park in Idyllwild (elev. 6,500') to the summit of San Jacinto Peak (elev. 10,804'). Geology note: The mountain is mostly granodiorite. Here near Wellman's Cienega, there is some migmatite or xenoliths (darker gray rock) mixed into the granodiorite (light gray).
